The 1964 Daken – Chick Deed

The July 8, 1964 Harland Daken and Normand Chick Deed to Maple Ridge Island along with its reference to the 1948 ST. Moritz Club Plan is the recorded description of Maple Ridge Island as a public record published in Book 869, Page 4 of the  Kennebec County Registry of Deeds and is available online at the registry or at the link below. .

Notes about The Deed:

1.    Note the reference to Lot #20 owned by William Bergen as seen in the Photos of Muriel Minkowsky's Gallery of Original Pictures and is further referenced on the 1948 St. Moritz Club Plan with a depiction of a camp on Lot #20.

2.    Note the exclusion from The Deed of the continuation of the land at the North end of the Island in proximity to Lot #35 that did not pass its ownership with this Deed.

3.    Note the establishment of a common right-of-way which would become Daychick Road (later renamed Maple Ridge Drive) and is intended to serve as a passageway commonly owned as part of each lot and that would become the extended means of passage off the Island across “The Causeway” constructed in 1965 as seen in The Gallery link above.
