The Large Shed stands out from its
East position on the Lot and can’t be missed with its yellow siding and full
white trim to match the exterior decor of the Home. |
2. Notes / Overview / Description:
|
The Large shed was built in 2021 to
house the Lawn Tractor, the smaller mower, the other guarding tools, hoses,
lines and boat and water accessories; and to move the gas storage cans away
from the home where they had been stored in the attached small shed. The Large
Shed was built on an insulated, raised riprap and smaller stone pile
foundation. A 12-foot by 16-foot pressure treated (PT) six-by-six (6X6) frame
defined the footprint and supported the fastened pressure treated 2 X 8 sills
and joists with a 5/4 PT deck to make the floor. The 2 X 4 x 8 elevations 16-on-center with
a double top rail capped the walls covered with ½ inch plywood. Reenforced triangular 2 x 4 trusses placed
2 feet on-center suspended, without any internal posts, a 5/8 roof deck and green
metal roofing pitched down and away from its 5-foot-wide double door front
entryway. The double entry way doors are set
into a continuous welded steel Door Jam.
Five (5) welded hinges are fastened to the Door Jam on either side
with each hinge welded to a common vertical steel strap to combine their
strength into a single hinge unit that is bolted to each door Left and
Right. The Left-Hand Door fastens top
and bottom with slide bolts that lock into the steel Door Jam from inside the
shed. The Right-Hand Door closes to a
magnetic catch and a dead-bolt lock to secure the shed. The Large shed is
equipped with North and South screened windows for natural cross ventilation
from the prevailing North breeze and a powered exhaust fan for calm hot
summer days. The Large Shed is
lighted with interior power outlets at the “built-in” workbench and an
external GFI receptacle on the Southwest corner of the building. Seasonal pressurized
irrigation water is accessible from the same external Southwest corner
location. The electric power in
the Large Shed is supplied from The
20 Amp Breaker #21 on the 100
Amp Sub-Panel #1 in Garage. (Use the
“Back Arrow” to return here) A flood lamp sits over its entryway
doors. |
